The Kenyan government has taken new action against secular groups seeking to educate and inform the local citizenry. In a stunning move, the government refused to register a local group due to concerns that the group might affect the “peace and order” of the government.
Less than 3% of Kenyans identify as nonreligious.
Last year, the group was targeted for its efforts to repeal the national holiday put in place with Pope Francis’ visit. The group believes that it is the brunt of religious persecution, but did not seem too shocked at their treatment.
